AM) We left Broc at 6.30 and it is drizzling, quite a nice change from the searing heat. We had 4 days rest and are now on our way again.

PM) We are camped in the grounds of the beautiful Chateau Breze 12 kilometres South East of Saumur on the D.93 it has turned into a beautiful evening. Pebbles is very well after a day of 60 kilometres, the afternoon turned really hot again !

Left at 6.30 in the morning as the sun was just rising above the Chateau,beautiful pink sky. Past thruough Montreuil-Bellay following the D938 to Thouars where we were interviewd by the local press. Then it was onto St.Generoux via Misse,Auzay,Maulais,Auboue,Ligaine we then followed the river along a cycle track. We spent the might next to the river. To the sounds of owls. A very kind couple gave us supper with them.

Left early in the morning and made our way to Parthenay via Airvault,St.Loup sur Thouet, Gourge. We met up with Chantelles parents then spent the might just outside Parthenay.

Today's Route Parthenay, D134 to Chateau Bourdin, la Boissiere en Gatine, St Marc la Lande, Champdeniers St Denis, Germond Rouvre, Ternanteuil, Moulin Neuf, then finally Surimeau a small village on the outskirts of Niort where we were looked after by a very kind lady.

Today we didn't leave until after 9:00 we went via St Pezenne over a beautiful river them onto Serigny, la Tiffardiere, St Liguaire, Bessine, Taillepied, Bassee, Granzay-Gript, and Limouillas. The day has been very hard and exhausting we are in the local regional paper Le Corrier de l'Ouest we had a very good write up with some nice photos and finally arriving in le Cormenier at 5.30. A very kind gentleman showed us into a field with plenty of grass for Pebbles and them went and fetched us a container of water. We then had supper and a cup of tea.

Left le Cormenier at 7.15, it is warm but over cast. Stopped just outside Dampierre sur Boutonne for breakfast and to give Pebbles a break. Then onto Blanzay sur Boutonne, Antezant la Chapelle and Courcelle where we spent the night in the middle of a poplar grove, had a terrible time with the midges!

We left early visited St. Jean D'Angely them onto St. Hilaire de Villefrance, Brizambourg, Chez Quimand where we met a fellow carriage driver who invited up home for lunch with his family, we didn't leave till 5.30 true continental lunch! Spent the night by the Charent river and he and his wife came down with coffee and cake a really good day!
