Meridian came to film at 10 am and stayed till 12.30 we were on the news the next day. we left at 12.30 heading for Canterbury. About 10 miles out of Canterbury the heavens opened we were drenched, arriving at the Cathedral looking very wet and bedraggled. They had been forewarned and very movingly a Canon individually took us down to the Crypt and lit a candle and said a blessing and prayer with each of us. In the same spot where for hundreds of years each pilgrim had been before. That night we stayed at Bossington Farm in the hamlet Bossington. Carine and dinks came to visit from Ramsgate. Itwas the first night of camping! More Photos

Thomas and william joined me and C. on the carriage and we slowly made our way down the hill into Dover promenade where Dad,robert,Sue and Charlotte were waiting for us. Tod and Chantelles father turned up later with the trailer. Christopher turned up with Champagne to toast our pilgrimage it was time to say a final goodbye. We loaded Pebbles Tod was driving us across to Calais. Arrived at our B&B in Le Fort Vert. A beautiful place tethered Pebbles had something to eat then bed after a long day. More Photos
Tod left early for his return trip. Breakfastthen it was off down the coast of Calais. Didn't anticipate the amount of steep hills and so pushed Pebbles too hard the first day. That night we spent at Le Portel just the other side of Boulogne sur Mer. More Photos

Left at about 9am and headed for the Somme did about 30k camping in Groffliers in a field by a farm. Stopped at 3.30 tired and hot the day had been warm and windy with lots of hills to walk up. 21st July left camp by 7.30am walked the first hour then had a good two hrs trotting and made it to the outskirts of Crotoy on the somme. We stopped for 1hr lunch break a well earned rest for Pebbles. Then headed for Abbeville going along the canal. We were just climbing a very steep hill out of Abbeville when we were stopped by a gentleman asking if we had somewhere to stay. what a stroke of luck he and his brothers ran a B&B and Equestrian center. 10 k from where we were climbing it was a very very hot afternoon qnd the hill was steep. We arrived at this beautiful Chateau Behen in the little Hamlet Behen. What with one thing and another we stayed here until 24th July. More Photos
