A.M) The weather is cold and overcast and strong winds. The storm the other night lasted until the morning and you could still hear the rumbles in the distance! We are camped just before Palais de Rei P.M) Left Palas de Rei the weather was cold and overcast and drizzling. The good thing about today is that the Camino has been possible to follow in its entirety. Cart tracks and country roads. Beautiful, undulating countryside. We are in the most idyllic hostel on the banks of the river Iso. Huge field to camp in, with wild mint growing, sheep and lambs grazing. The run is shinning and hot. Met an Irish 90yr old walking the Camino! More Photos
Had a lovely day following the Camino through eucalyptus groves with their wonderful scent and welcome shade. Lots of ups and downs, through mixed woods and over a couple of fords. We are camped behind the municipal hostel in Santa Irene 21 kilometres from Santiago nearly there! More Photos
Last 4 days have been amazing. Due to both our families joining us in Santiago on the 20th we have been able to slow down the pace to time our arrival to meet up in front of the Cathedral on the 20th. Because we had slowed up to the pace of a walking pilgrim we met up with a number of pilgrims we have passed along the Camino and also we were able to follow the Pilgrims Way mainly because it has been fairly even & friendly towards horse & carriages. The paths were wide and they ran through leafy eucalyptus groves and along river valleys. More Photos
